Camino: Day 7

Day 7 was a hard day. It started pleasant enough, we left early again and got to slog through all the mud left from the crazy thunderstorm the night before. It seemed to be clay that just stick to your shoes and built up thicker with every step.

We walked for a while and didn't manage to find any small place to stop for breakfast. We found a place with coffee, and then it started raining and I got to use my rain poncho.

But then the day got longer and my knee started hurting again, and then my tendon started hurting as well, while my legs both cramped up.

We were considering staying in the small town of Viana, but we heard that a lot of other people were wanting to stay there because of the festival that was occurring, so we opted to push on to Logroño, which added an additional 5pm or so to our day. Next time the opportunity presents itself I'd like to try to stay and see the festivities, but this time none of us wanted to deal with the celebrations, we just wanted sleep.

It was a miserable 30km day for all of us. We decided to take a light day tomorrow and try to buy some stuff we've been unable to find since we're in a major city.
